Welcome to NAMI Midland, Michigan
NAMI Midland holds regular monthly meetings the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. We meet in the main conference room of the Midland building of Community Mental Health for Central Michigan, located at 218 Fast Ice Drive, Midland,MI 48642. Our meetings start at 7:00 p.m.
and usually end around 8:30 p.m.
The first portion of the meeting is educational and often features a guest speaker. This may include mental health professionals, government officials, or other service providers. Members generally have an opportunity to ask questions of these resource people.
We then have the support portion of our meeting during which time individuals may express their needs, concerns, and progress. The interaction with others who have had similar experiences is often very beneficial. In keeping with the spirit of a support group, it is a requirement that these conversations be kept confidential.
All meetings are free and open to the public, and we warmly welcome anyone – consumer, caregiver, family member, spouse, partner,
or friend – whose life has been affected by mental illness. No dues are required to attend our meetings. We do, however, encourage regularly attending individuals to join NAMI, which confers a number of benefits on them and our affiliate.
This fall, NAMI Midland is offering "Family to Family," a free, 11-week educational program specifically for family members and friends of adults who live with mental illness. The class begins on Tuesday evening, September 5 and ends on Tuesday, November 14. The class is scheduled from 6:30-9:00pm. To get more details and to register, please call 989-948-3273 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org by August 25.
