NAMI Midland County is selling flower bulbs as a fundraiser to promote the importance of mental health in the community. Through Plant Hope, it aims to raise awareness of mental illness, fight sigma, and build better lives for individuals and families affected by mental illness. All proceeds from the fundraiser go to NAMI Midland County to provide programs and support groups free of charge so that no one is alone on their mental health journey.
Flowers are known to provide many mental health benefits such as increasing happiness, reducing feelings of depression, and lessening anxiety. All flower bulbs are high-quality landscaping favorites and are selected for mid-Michigan’s climate from a family-owned Michigan horticulture supplier. And they are earth friendly!
Flower bulbs will be available by Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 2-8, 2022, in time for planting in the fall and blooming by next May in commemoration of National Mental Health Awareness Month.
