NAMI Midland County is selling flower bulbs starting in mid-May 2024, as a fundraiser to promote the importance of mental health in the community. Through Plant Hope, it aims to raise awareness of mental illness, fight stigma, and build better lives for individuals and families affected by mental illness. All proceeds from the fundraiser go to NAMI Midland County to provide programs and support groups in the surrounding counties and communities free of charge so that no one is alone on their mental health journey.
Flowers are known to provide many mental health benefits such as increasing happiness, reducing feelings of depression, and lessening anxiety. All flower bulbs are high-quality landscaping favorites and are selected for mid-Michigan’s climate from a family-owned Michigan horticulture supplier. And they are earth friendly!
Bulb sales start in mid-May through June 21st, 2024. They will be available in time for planting in the fall of 2024. These bulbs will then flower in May 2025, to commemorate National Mental Health Awareness Month.
